The smell of cooking bacon is great (as if that needed saying, but hey, it’s my blog…), the bread is sliced and waiting…

I’m not going to add any sauce to the bacon, as I want to see what it tastes like ‘naked’ so to speak.

The moment of truth is here…

The cooked bacon

Well, first impressions are good – nice and firm texture, slightly salty and sweet, but there is a bit of bitter acidic ‘tang’ to the bacon. I suspect that the caffeine has imparted a bit too much flavour to the bacon.

Yeek. The bitter aftertaste is a bit much. I suspect that less caffeine will be needed next time, plus a more flavourful alternative addition (Marmite has been suggested)…
